Himpunan 2 Roda 2022 – Bikers Gather at Taiping
Himpunan 2 Roda is a motorcycle show and nationwide gathering of bikers currently being held in Taiping at the open-air parking lot of TF Value Mart (formerly Giant Hypermarket Taiping).
It is a 3-day event, which began the morning of Friday, the 29th of July 2022, and is set to end at 2.00 pm on Sunday, the 31st of July.

Event Overview
The layout of the event venue is divided into several sections:
- exhibitors booths,
- organisers booths,
- food stalls and dining area,
- vendor booths, and
- the stage.
There is a combined total of 40 booths here for you to visit.
Activities lined up are bike competitions, a motor show, fun ride, city tour convoy, religious-themed talks and performances, food and drink sales, exhibitions by government agencies and businesses in the motoring industry, and a rock concert each night featuring the bands Dinamik, The Mission, May, and The Whoohh. The band May are headliners for the concert and will perform on Saturday night.

Several motorcycle industry giants are exhibitors at Himpunan 2 Roda 2022:

Test rides of bikes are allowed and several would-be purchasers could be seen riding the bikes for short distances.
The Organisers
This event was organised by the Taiping Salam Motorcyle Club, with support from various government agencies. Congratulations are in order to the club for putting together this event and bringing everyone together.
Food & Drinks
There are many food and drink stalls here, and there’s something to cater for every appetite. Coffees, fruit juices, kebabs, chicken, noodles, and rice dishes are all available. The rotisserie chicken looked really good.
The Moto Show
On Saturday a large bike exhibition and competition was held. Among the bikes that could be seen were classic and retro bikes competing in the Open category, Hondas, Yamaha, Suzukis, and Kawasakis competing in the Kapcai categories, and several custom bikes and big bikes. Biker clubs from all across Malaysia came together to make this event possible.
Biker Gear
Besides the assorted food and drinks, are several booths selling paraphernalia, accessories, clothes, and souvenirs for bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts. Look for the booths selling racing jerseys to the left of the main stage. Several name-brands wares can be seen on sale, such as Shoei, Alpinestars, HJC Helmets, and Timsun Tyres.
The Rock Show
On Friday night, the crowd was entertained by the band Dinamik, who have a very charismatic frontman, and a very steady drummer. The band belted out original material and cover songs amplified by a very solid sound system. The use of pyrotechnics have to be commended.
Takeaways from Himpunan 2 Roda 2022
The Good
This event was a breath of much-needed fresh air to Taiping, with bikers and motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country spending their weekend here. Guessing from the turnout, this could have possibly been the largest event in Taiping since the Covid-19 Movement Restriction Orders were lifted.
The Bad
Bands playing their hearts out to static, silently-appreciative audiences. One frontman even had to ask “tepuk sikit” (clap a little).
The Ugly
There were so many people who weren’t wearing facemasks walking about and socialising.
