Deja Corner

Deja Corner is a restaurant in Medan Perwira, Kamunting, specialising in local Malay cuisine. It is located at the corner of the row of shops where the SSL Traders Hotel is, opposite the army camp. The restaurant is open from 7.00 am till 1.30 am Monday to Saturday, with Sundays off. Different menus are served throughout the day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Main dishes served are accompaniments for a rice meal: Fish curry, ayam goreng rempah (fried chicken with spices), ayam masak merah (chicken in spicy red sauce), sambal sotong (calamari or squid in chili paste), ikan keli sambal (catfish in chili paste), ikan kembung sambal (Indian mackerel in chili paste), chicken korma, pajeri nenas (pineapple relish), pajeri terung (eggplant relish), grilled fish, and various other dishes that are served on rotation.

The restaurant’s specialties are mee rebus (noodles in broth), nasi ayam (chicken rice), pasembor, and a full meal consisting of white rice, curry, sambal belacan (prawn and chili paste), herbs, ikan bawal (pomfret), and soya sauce with chili.

Drinks served are teas, coffees, cincau (grass jelly) drinks, limau and lemon asam boi (lime juice or lemonade with sour plums), green tea, and fruit juices.
