Taiping Golf Course Mural

The Taiping Golf Course Mural is painted over the outer wall of the KwangTung Association Building, across the street from the Land & District Office, facing Jalan Taming Sari.

The mural commemorates Taiping’s first golf course, which was the first golf course in Malaysia, built in 1893, and home to the oldest golf club in Malaysia, the Perak Golf Club. Today, the original 9-hole course no longer exists, but the area where it once stood is part of the Taiping New Club, one of the oldest social clubs in Taiping.
