This townhouse has rotted into oblivion, with only some parts of the front façade of the building remaining. Even the stairs to the upper floor, and the floor of the upper floor itself have disintegrated. The roof has collapsed, and only 4 panes out of the original 10 remain for the upper floor windows.
The building has been abandoned for quite some time. Lack of maintenance and disuse have taken their toll and all but destroyed the building. The location of this building is in one of the oldest parts of the original Taiping city center, with the old Clock Tower only a few feet away.
The townhouse is a typical example of pre-war architecture in Malaya: brick and mortar lower floors, and an upper floor made up mostly of wood.
