Nasi Kerabu Mek Wa is a cafe and restaurant located in Jalan Istana Larut Business Park, next door to Deli Cafe. This restaurant serves very authentic Kelantanese-style nasi kerabu (rice steamed with herbs). The restaurant has another outlet located adjacent to the Petron fuel station in Kamunting. The restaurant is run by a husband-and-wife barista-and-chef team with the support of service staff. We don’t normally make personal recommendations on this site, but the food here is really good,
The main dishes available to accompany your nasi kerabu are ayam bakar (roast chicken), daging bakar (roast beef), ikan celup tepung (fried Indian Mackerel in flour), ayam percik (roasted spiced chicken in coconut sauce), itik salai (smoked duck), and kambing rosemary (mutton/ lamb with rosemary), and several other dishes served on rotations. Besides nasi kerabu, nasi kukus ayam berempah (steamed rice with chicken roasted in spices) is also available.
Side dishes to accompany your nasi kerabu available are solok (chili peppers stuffed with coconut and fish), bawang jeruk (pickled onions), keropok (fish or prawn crackers), and laksam (flat rice noodles in fish gravy).
