Restoran Tok Nayyu is a restaurant specialising in Malay cuisine, namely from Kelantan. The restaurant is based in Jalan Barrack, Taiping, opposite the TMpoint building. The restaurant occupies a corner lot with an empty shop lot beside it, and this empty space is used to provide an alfresco dining area for patrons. The restaurant is a popular stop during breakfast hours, and for lunch.
The signature dishes of this restaurant are Nasi Kerabu Kelate (Kelantanese Herbal Rice), Nasi Dagang Kelate (Kelantanese rice steamed in coconut milk), and Nasi Kukus Bujang (steamed rice with curry and roasted or fried chicken).
The restaurant is open as early as 7.00 am, and provides quick takeaway food in the form of nasi lemak (fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk, wrapped in pandan leaf with a side of chili paste and sliced egg), mostly for the crowds of office workers in the surrounding area.
The restaurant’s full menu is served from 9.00 am onwards, until around 6.00 pm.
The restaurant then remains open to serve burgers of various kinds, up to 10.00 pm.
Sometimes the restaurant closes early if they run out of ingredients.
The restaurant is run by two close friends: Wan Azhar and Amirul.
