Taiping Nattukkottai Chettiar Temple

Taiping Nattukkottai Chettiar Temple is a Hindu temple located along Jalan Simpang, Taiping. The full name of the temple is the Taiping Nattukkorrai Chettiar’s Larut Sri Thendayuthapani Temple. As the name suggests, the temple was built by members of the Nattukkottai Chettiar (also known as the Nagarathar) community in Taiping. The Nattukkottai Chettiar originally from India were a caste of merchants that lived in cities, primarily serving as bankers and money lenders, and continued this in their new homeland of Taiping.

The temple complex is huge and incorporates a large event hall besides the main temple building.
