Dishes usually available are fried chicken, ikan bakar (grilled fish – very popular at this eatery), beef and chicken cooked in various styles, asam pedas (fish in savoury and spicy sauce) and a variety of vegetables. Highly recommended are the pineapple curry and pucuk paku masak lemak (fern shoots in coconut milk). The food here is very traditional Malay food, and has a very homecooked taste and feel to it.
Mom’s Prison Corner is a well-established restaurant in Taiping that has been feeding patrons for more than 10 years now. Mom’s Prison Corner is also available to cater weddings and other events. The restaurant only opens for lunch hours between 10am and 3.30pm daily.
