The Firdaus Kader Food Court is an Indian Muslim (i.e. Mamak) nasi kandar restaurant located along Jalan Barrack, directly behind St. George’s Secondary School. Beside the food court is the Hospital.
The restaurant is actually a very large food court, with different kiosks serving different types of dishes.
The restaurant is very busy in the mornings and during lunch hours. There is a large open-air car park just beside the food court, and parking bays along the roads surrounding the food court.
Popular dishes:
- Bubur gandum (sweet wheat porridge with coconut milk, usually finishes before 10am)
- Nasi kandar and a combination of their main dishes
- Murtabak (chicken or beef)
- Roti canai
- Mee goreng (friend noodles)
- Pasembor
Main dishes served here are fried chicken, chicken curry, chicken korma, chicken in red sauce (ayam masak merah), mutton curry, mutton korma, beef curry, beef in black gravy (daging hitam), assorted vegetables, and rice.
Other dishes served are roti canai and its popular variations, variations of fried noodles and flat noodles, bubur kacang (sweet mung bean porridge with coconut milk) , and Maggi goreng (fried Maggi instant noodles).
Specialty dishes such as chicken or beef rendang can be made to order with orders placed 2 days ahead of time. The restaurant also caters for small functions and weddings.
The Firdaus Kader food court is open from 6am till 7pm, except on Sundays when they are closed. It has another branch located in Pokok Assam.
This is a halal restaurant.
