Ipoh Bakery

Ipoh Bakery is a bakery located along Jalan Taming Sari (formerly known as Main Road) in Taiping.

The bakery produces freshly baked cakes, pastries, and buns daily.

For cakes, one can order custom designs based on the bakery’s cake recipes, or choose from the bakery’s own designs.

There is a small range of wholemeal bread and buns available for more health-conscious folk.

In the afternoons, around 4.00 pm, a new batch of oven-fresh buns are produced, and a line of bread sellers (colloquially known as “mamak roti“) will appear outside the bakery with their motorcycles with custom carriages, selling fresh breads and buns from Ipoh Bakery ala a drive-thru. The street is very busy during these hours, with motorists making quick pit stops to grab their daily supply of baked goods from the sellers. Around 6.00 pm when the bakery is closed, these bread sellers leave the area and begin plying their routes delivering bread and other baked goods to their subscribed customers all over Taiping.
