The Cross Street Bazaar is a weekly flea market spanning the length of Jalan Alang Ahmad that happens every Friday to Sunday from 6.00 pm till midnight. Jalan Alang Ahmad is cordoned off at the intersections of Jalan Taming Sari, Jalan Kota, and Jalan Pasar to accommodate 50 to 60 sellers that gather here every weekend to set up their tents and booths. The Bazaar is organised by the Taiping City Council and has been a weekly event since 2014.
Gifts & Souvenirs
Several booths will sell unique gift items and souvenirs, many of them handcrafted, such as T-shirts, keychains, fridge magnets, woodwork, pottery and other clay handicraft; home decorations, clothing, and fashion accessories. Some booths sell pre-loved clothes and shoes, great for thrift shoppers. Occasionally a picker will make an appearance touting antiques and collectibles.
Food & Drinks
At the intersection of Jalan Pasar and Jalan Alang Ahmad (Cross Street) are located a few food trucks and booths selling a variety of food and drinks.
Music
Also at the intersection of Jalan Pasar and Jalan Alang Ahmad will be a canopy where a band or musician will be performing. Occassionally an open-mic karaoke session will be held. Fun times for all.
Cross Street Bazaar Fun for Kids
The adjacent Dataran Warisan Square is a track for rollerblades, roller skates, skateboards, and model cars that can be rented from several booths in the bazaar. Adults can join in on the fun, too.
