Restoran Nasi Kapau Reeni is a restaurant specialising in Malay traditional cuisine from the Minang ethnicity. The restaurant is located along Halaman Pasar (Market Square) in Taiping. It is a popular spot for breakfast and lunch.
The food served here is very authentic Minang cuisine: nasi kapau (steamed rice) served alongside a main dish of choice: rendang, curry, clams, stuffed bean curd, catfish, cutlets, tripe stuffed with eggs in curry, spicy fried chicken, bovine lungs, and a multitude of other choices from their rotating menu.
Vegetable dishes are also very varied: herbs served raw with chili paste or prawn paste, cooked in spicy coconut milk, curried or fried, and many others.
Drinks include the usual: teas, coffees, fruit juices, etc. Their avocado juice is very popular.
Popular desserts are durian cendol, and various shaved ice desserts.
There is a single car park bay directly outside the restaurant that is specially reserved for restaurant patrons.
